Quick French manicure with Bourjois nail polishes

Hello everyone,

Now that I am starting to wear brights on my lips, I tend to wear more nude colours on my hands. Don’t ask me why, as even I don’t know. I was wondering how to paint them, and decided to try to do a french mani. Now, as you know I can be a tiny bit clumsy (maybe the understatement of the year), but armed with my three polishes (and a bottle of nail polish remover handy) I went to work. All three polishes are from Bourjois, and I must say that one more time, this brand did not disappoint me.

I started by applying a bit of Bourjois French Manicure Glamourous White on the tips of my nails. I have to say the the slanted applicator made it rather easy. I did not do a perfect job (because I was the one applying it, did I mention I am clumsy?), but doing on part of the tip with one side of the brush then turning the brush to do the other side was the way that worked for me.: no painful drawing of lines or fiddling with stickers. Here is a close-up of the brush:

I let it dry for a couple of minutes, and then applied a coat of Bourjois So Laque Rose Lounge. I thought the Rose Lounge would offset the white, so that my nails would look natural and not just “white-tipped” (I do not like it when you go for a french mani at a salon and they just put white on the tips, a shiny top-coat and off you go. I want it to look natural and not obvious), but it was so sheer that it did not really do anything (now I may need to add that with my nails being quite yellow, it did not help). So instead of putting on a second coat of Rose Lounge, I decided to apply Bourjois So Laque Rose Satin on top of it.And that my friends, was the best idea ever.

The result? Shiny and pretty nails. If you look at my hands close and personal then you will obviously see that there was work involved, but otherwise it does look like “my nails, but better”. I can see myself doing it again : it did not take long, it looks good and I am impressed with its longevity: I have done it a couple of days ago, and there is no chipping, despite hours of furious typing on my keyboard at work (and, ahem, hours of furious typing on my computer at home). I love Bourjois polishes but I find the brighter colours do not seem to have much staying power, it is most definitely not the case with these!

What is your fail-safe / go to / work to party manicure? Do you like Bourjois nail polishes?
